| Unfortunately megabuck salaries are still a distant dream for radiologists, even in corporate hospitals. The hospital administration likes to pay more to the clinicians because they bring in patients, which generates revenues. Whereas a radiologist just performs/ interprets a study, for which the hospital has already invested in infrastructure. |

Probably the solution in long term may be :
A) legislation (i.e. banning of cuts/ incentives for referrals) like its there in many countries e.g.USA
B)Consolidation of smaller centers into larger, more professionally managed units with greater bargaining clout.
Afterall people need investigations and radiologists/ pathologists to interpret them. Lets say that in one particular area, all the small centers unite and form one big entity which refuses to pay cuts and attracts patients solely by virtue of advertisements and good practices...... ? Wishful thinking??
